Robert Ryman at Inverleith House

In 2006, Urs Raussmüller organized an incomparable exhibition with paintings by Robert Ryman at Inverleith House, Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. The exhibition comprised thirteen important works of which the earliest dated 1963 and the most recent was created by the artist on the spot. Each work in the exhibition was distinctly individual; together they offered a broad spectrum of Ryman’s art. In a network of different light situations in the extraordinary setting of Inverleith House, the powerful paintings connected with their surroundings and offered the viewer room by room a strong emotional enrichment.

The video shows an excerpt of a talk between Paul Nesbitt, director of exhibitions at Inverleith House, and Urs Raussmüller. The text has been published in conjunction with a talk with Robert Ryman and additional texts, as well as large-format illustrations in our catalogue Robert Ryman at Inverleith House.
